Oriental and Persian rugs are hand-crafted and can’t be cleaned the same way as regular carpet. We use a gentle, professional process that removes dirt deep in the fibers without damaging the colors, texture, or structure.

Most carpet cleaning machines are built for wall-to-wall synthetic carpet. Using them on an oriental rug is one of the fastest ways to damage it – colors bleed, fibers shrink, fringes fray.
We assess every rug before we touch it – checking fiber type, dye stability, and construction. Then we choose the right cleaning method for that specific rug.
🔍 We use pH-balanced, eco-friendly solutions with low-moisture extraction that is powerful enough to remove embedded dirt while remaining gentle on the fibers and colors your rug was made with.
Our IICRC certified technicians treat every rug – whether a daily-use wool rug or a valuable antique – with the same careful, professional process.
Every type of oriental rug has different fibers, dyes, and construction. Each one needs a different approach – and we know the difference.
Hand-knotted with wool or silk on cotton foundations. Natural dyes require pH-balanced cleaning to stay vibrant – standard detergents strip the color and damage the pile.
Thick wool pile with bold patterns. Robust but sensitive to harsh chemicals and high heat – both can cause shrinkage and color bleeding if not handled correctly.
Among the most delicate and valuable rugs made. Silk fibers need specialized cleaning solutions and very careful handling – one wrong step can permanently damage the sheen.
Each knot is tied by hand – hundreds per square inch. These need gentle agitation and thorough rinsing to clean properly without pulling at the foundation or distorting the pile.
Old rugs have fragile fibers and faded dyes. We assess the condition carefully first and use the gentlest possible method to clean without making the deterioration worse.
Jute, sisal, seagrass, and cotton rugs need low-moisture cleaning – too much water causes shrinkage, warping, and discoloration that can’t be undone.
Not sure what type of rug you have? Call us – we’ll help you identify it and tell you what cleaning it needs.
Call us and describe your rug. We’ll explain what we can do before any work begins, with no pressure and no obligation.
We inspect every rug first and give you an honest quote before we begin.
Pet accidents on oriental rugs need enzyme treatment – not just surface cleaning. We handle those too.

Where to begin!? About a month ago, a water leak destroyed the floors throughout much of our house, and we couldn't be happier with The Best Restoration. They took care of the water damage mitigation, packing, demo, and new flooring installation. Every single person we interacted with was incredible--kind, empathetic, professional, efficient--but we were especially amazed by Rodger's dedication, communication, and leadership. He went above and beyond for us time and again and made this entire process as quick and stress-free as possible. When his team was tied up with other projects one day, he came at 6:00 p.m. on a Friday evening to wrap up the leak mitigation and haul out the equipment himself just to make sure we could have a quiet weekend without the fans. He then planned most of the demo and floor installation for the week of our planned vacation, and took care of absolutely everything while we were gone--hunting down the closest match to our original flooring that could be found anywhere from Gainesville to Ocala and sending photos and videos of the team's progress to keep us in the loop. Rodger is exceptional, as is the team under his leadership. We certainly aren't *planning* to have another house-related catastrophe in the near future, but it's comforting to know that if we do, there's such an outstanding team ready to help.![]()

Honest answers to the questions we hear most often before a rug cleaning appointment.
We clean Persian, Turkish, Afghan, Chinese, and most other oriental rugs - hand-knotted, hand-woven, and machine-made. We also handle natural fiber rugs like wool, silk, jute, sisal, and cotton blends. We assess each rug first and confirm the right approach before starting any work.
We do a dye stability test on every rug before applying any cleaning solution. If we find any dye sensitivity, we adjust our method - lower moisture, gentler solutions, or a dry approach for that area. Our goal is to return your rug looking exactly as it did before, just cleaner.
Yes - when done correctly. Wool cleans very well and looks vibrant after a proper clean. The key is using the right water temperature, pH-balanced solution, and low-moisture extraction. Too much water or the wrong detergent strips the natural lanolin from wool fibers, making them brittle over time. Our process is specifically designed to be safe for wool.
Pet urine soaks through to the foundation and dries into crystals deep in the pile - surface cleaning won't remove it. We use enzyme-based treatments that break down the urine compounds at the source. In most cases we fully eliminate the odor, though very old or heavy staining may need more than one treatment.
For most homes, every 1 to 3 years is a good schedule. Rugs in high-traffic areas or homes with pets and children benefit from annual cleaning. Between professional cleanings, gently vacuum with the beater bar turned off - this lifts surface soil before it works deeper into the pile.
Often yes. What looks like fading or wear is frequently just embedded dirt and oils dulling the pile. A proper deep cleaning removes that buildup and brings back the original vibrancy and texture. Most customers are surprised by how different their rug looks after a thorough clean - results depend on the rug's actual condition but are almost always better than expected.
Yes. We offer rug repair for burn marks, fringe damage, small holes, moth damage, and worn areas. We discuss any damage during the initial assessment and let you decide how you'd like to proceed before we start work. Repairs can be done before or after cleaning depending on what makes the most sense for your rug.
Yes - antique and fragile rugs get our most careful approach. We use the lowest possible moisture, the mildest pH-balanced solutions, and hand-agitation instead of mechanical scrubbing where needed. Old rugs often have fragile foundations and faded dyes. We always walk you through our planned method and get your approval before we start.
Yes - all our solutions are eco-friendly, non-toxic, and safe for children and pets once dry. We don't use harsh solvents or bleach-based products on oriental rugs. After proper neutralization, no chemical residue is left in the fibers. The rug is safe to walk on and use as soon as it's fully dry.
