The water is gone – but the damage is still there. Soft drywall, warped floors, stained ceilings, broken insulation. That’s what we fix.
We handle the full repair after water damage – same team that dried it out, now putting it back together. One call, start to finish.
We’ll call you back within 24 hours to schedule.
Most restoration companies stop at drying. They remove the water, pack up the equipment, and hand you a list of contractors you’ll need to call next.
We don’t work that way. Once everything is dry, our team stays on the job – replacing damaged drywall, fixing floors, repairing ceilings, and getting your home or business back to how it was before the water came in.
💡 One team handling everything means no gap between the drying and repair phase – which is when mold often sneaks back in if two separate contractors don’t communicate properly.
We serve Micanopy homeowners and businesses across Alachua County – day or night, small leaks to major floods.
Water touches everything – walls, floors, ceilings, insulation, framing. Here’s what we repair after the water is out and the structure is dry.
Drywall soaks up water fast and doesn’t dry from the inside. Wet drywall has to come out – if it stays, mold grows behind it. We remove the damaged sections, dry the framing behind it, and install new drywall that matches the existing wall.
Water warps hardwood, buckles laminate, and soaks through carpet into the subfloor underneath. We assess each floor type individually – sometimes we can save it, sometimes it needs to come out. Either way, we handle it properly.
A water stain on the ceiling usually means there’s a bigger problem above it. We find where the water came from, fix the source, then repair or replace the damaged ceiling – so the stain doesn’t come back in three months.
Wet insulation loses all its thermal properties and becomes a perfect environment for mold. It needs to come out completely. We remove it safely, dry the cavity, and install fresh insulation so your home stays energy efficient.
Water can soak into wood framing and weaken it over time. We use thermal imaging and moisture meters to find hidden water in structural members – and dry or replace them before they become a bigger problem.
Some personal items – furniture, rugs, documents, electronics – can be cleaned and restored if they’re treated quickly. We assess what can be saved and handle it carefully, so you don’t lose more than you have to.
A clear, step-by-step approach – so you always know what’s happening and what comes next.
We inspect every area water touched – visible and hidden – with moisture meters and thermal imaging.
Wet drywall, soaked insulation, and unsalvageable flooring come out – safely and cleanly.
We dry the framing, subfloor, and cavities completely before any new materials go in.
New drywall, flooring, insulation, ceilings – everything repaired to match what was there before.
We walk through the finished repairs with you – job’s not done until you’re satisfied with the result.
There are general contractors out there. Here’s why water damage repair specifically needs a specialist.
Most contractors won’t touch a property until it’s fully dry – but they weren’t there for the drying. We were. We know exactly what happened, what got wet, and what needs to be replaced. No handoff, no guessing.
Water hides. It travels behind walls, under subfloors, and into places you wouldn’t think to look. We use thermal imaging and moisture meters to find all of it – not just what’s visible on the surface.
We document every step – photos, moisture readings, material lists – in a format adjusters understand. We’ve helped hundreds of Alachua County homeowners get their claims approved faster.
We know the older housing stock in Micanopy, the flood patterns near Paynes Prairie, and the issues that come with Florida’s climate. That local knowledge makes our repairs more accurate – and longer lasting.
Get a free estimate — we’ll assess the damage and tell you exactly what needs fixing and what it’ll cost. No surprises.

Jorge Villalobos built this company from one truck and a simple rule — do the job right, tell people the truth, and don’t cut corners.
He came from Colombia, learned the trade in Gainesville’s cleaning and restoration industry, and saw that homeowners kept getting passed between companies — one for water removal, another for repairs, and nobody taking full responsibility.
So he built a team that handles everything under one roof — from the first emergency call through the final coat of paint. Nine trucks, hundreds of jobs, and the same standard every time.

Where to begin!? About a month ago, a water leak destroyed the floors throughout much of our house, and we couldn't be happier with The Best Restoration. They took care of the water damage mitigation, packing, demo, and new flooring installation. Every single person we interacted with was incredible--kind, empathetic, professional, efficient--but we were especially amazed by Rodger's dedication, communication, and leadership. He went above and beyond for us time and again and made this entire process as quick and stress-free as possible. When his team was tied up with other projects one day, he came at 6:00 p.m. on a Friday evening to wrap up the leak mitigation and haul out the equipment himself just to make sure we could have a quiet weekend without the fans. He then planned most of the demo and floor installation for the week of our planned vacation, and took care of absolutely everything while we were gone--hunting down the closest match to our original flooring that could be found anywhere from Gainesville to Ocala and sending photos and videos of the team's progress to keep us in the loop. Rodger is exceptional, as is the team under his leadership. We certainly aren't *planning* to have another house-related catastrophe in the near future, but it's comforting to know that if we do, there's such an outstanding team ready to help.![]()

Things people ask us most before booking – answered plainly.
Water damage repair is everything that happens after the water is removed and the structure is dry. That means replacing drywall that got wet and soft, fixing or replacing flooring that warped or buckled, repairing ceilings that stained or collapsed, removing and replacing wet insulation, and fixing anything else the water damaged. We also repaint, retrim, and make the space look like it did before the water event - not just structurally repaired, but finished.
We use moisture meters and thermal imaging to check every surface - not just what looks damaged. Some materials, like drywall that's been wet for more than 24 to 48 hours, almost always need to come out because they can't dry properly from the inside. Others, like hardwood floors caught early, can sometimes be saved with proper drying. We tell you honestly what needs replacing and what doesn't — we don't recommend replacement just to make the job bigger.
Not if you use us. We handle both - the water extraction and drying, and then the repairs that follow. This is actually important because a contractor who wasn't there for the drying phase won't know exactly what got wet and where. They'll work from what they can see on the surface, and hidden damage can get missed. We were there from day one, so nothing gets overlooked.
In most cases, yes - if the cause was sudden and accidental, like a burst pipe or appliance failure. Standard Florida homeowner's insurance typically covers both the water removal and the repairs that follow. It usually doesn't cover gradual damage from a slow leak that went ignored, or flooding from outside the home. We document everything from the start - photos, moisture readings, material lists - to support your claim and help it move faster.
Small repairs - like fixing one section of drywall and a small patch of flooring - can be done in a day or two once the structure is confirmed dry. Larger repairs affecting multiple rooms or structural elements take longer - typically one to two weeks depending on the scope. We give you a realistic timeline after the initial assessment, and we stick to it. You'll always know where things stand.
Yes - when done correctly. The key is making sure the structure is completely dry before new materials go in. If wet insulation or damp framing is covered with new drywall, mold grows behind it within weeks. We confirm moisture readings before we close anything up. We also apply antimicrobial treatment to the framing and cavities before installation. Done right, the repair eliminates the conditions mold needs to grow.
Yes - significantly. Sewage water (Category 3) contains bacteria and pathogens. Any material it touched - drywall, insulation, flooring - needs to be removed and disposed of properly, not just dried out. The structure underneath also needs full sanitization before any new materials go in. We handle Category 3 water damage following the correct protocols. This is one situation where cutting corners creates serious health risks - and we don't cut corners.
We do our best to match - drywall texture, paint color, flooring type. For drywall, we texture to match and paint the full wall so the repair blends in. For flooring, we try to source matching material. Sometimes an exact match isn't possible - especially with older or discontinued flooring - but we'll tell you upfront if that's the case and show you the closest available option before we proceed.
Yes - and we're experienced with the older housing stock common in Micanopy. Older homes sometimes have different construction methods, older plumbing, or materials that need special handling. We're familiar with what's common in this area and know how to repair it properly without cutting corners to fit a modern template.
Yes - we handle both. A small leak under a sink that was caught early might only need a section of drywall and some flooring replaced. A major flood affecting multiple rooms needs full extraction, drying, and extensive repairs. Either way, we treat it with the same care and thoroughness - the size of the job doesn't change our standard.
